Meanwhile, as the Govette boys were sprouting, there were big goings on for Harvey and Irma Ische in early 1952 as well. Rumor has it that Allan, (Baby Boom Boom) was birthed in a log cabin. Allan was a smiley kid and had what passes for some kind of normal childhood, as we all did.

By the time Allan arrived in Ontario, he was already practicing his drumming. Influenced by the Beatles and others from the fertile 60s rock music scene, Allan played whenever he could.

Allan met Howard at the Gallery Theater in Upland, California. They would both act and sing in musicals at the community theater, and both were clever and enjoyed each other’s quick-witted banter. I was in the Navy during this time. Howard and Allan formed a bond and began jamming together, both playing guitars. They also spent hours recording improv, much of which would surface in Ointment Project skits and absurdities later on.
But Allan yearned to drum in a band too. His green sparkle Slingerland Ringo Starr drum set was well used as Allan honed his percussion skills.
