The idea for this song was simple. I wanted to put together in a song things that normally are not together. Initially, I thought, ‘How about barnyard animals surfing? ‘ This eventually morphed into Nuclear Surfer Droid, a dream-thought about an android designed to clean up nuclear waste. When the android becomes sick, it is sent to Mars, where not only water, but tides and waves were discovered. Hence, the nuclear android surfs.
Lunar, Mad Dog and I would practice singing 3-part harmony on lots of songs, honing our skill in that area. As we learned this song, we sang it all the time. It was a natural for inclusion on the new CD.
