The Oakie Pluckers

Boom Boom, Lunar Ray, Brain Damage & Mad Dog channeling our inner C&W/Bluegrass sounds.

As the Ointment Project wanted to try our hand at all types of music, we decided to name ourselves the Oakie Pluckers, retaining the O. and P. We recorded some songs under this pseudonym, and had great fun doing it!

This is an early shot of the Oakie Pluckers from their first calendar shoot. Washtub bass, fake beard, and Boom Boom’s left nipple on display. All calendar pictures from then were taken by K.D. Ische, official OP bandwife.
Howard, Mike & Danny used to sing every day, working out 3-way harmonies. On a lark, we played at Hobie’s Roadhouse, a local venue for a talent contest. We won! I made Hobie write the check out to the Oakie Pluckers. Great fun!
I hijacked this old folio and made it a lasting piece of Oakie Pluckers memorabilia. We did enjoy our Pluckers music!
